Detailed information

Product detailed description

suizan
Japanese saws (also called nokogiri) are a type of hand saw that cut on the pull‑stroke, unlike European saws that cut on the push stroke. The main advantage of Japanese pull saws is their high cutting accuracy. The kugihiki is a saw specifically designed for flush‑cutting. The particularity of this type is that there is no set in the teeth, therefore it will not leave any marks. Kugihiki features a super-thin blade with two sets of saw teeth—one for softwood and one for hardwood—that can easily bend to keep the blade flush on the work surface.

Main features of the SUIZAN Kugihiki Japanese saw:

✅ Pull saw
✅ Extremely fine teeth ensuring precise cuts
✅ Highly flexible blade with two sets of saw teeth
✅ Suitable for soft and hardwood as well
✅ Blade thickness of only 0,5 mm
✅ Robust wooden handle
✅ High-quality workmanship
✅ Made in Japan

Why should you get a Japanese saw?

Japanese saws (also called nokogiri) are a type of hand saw that cut on the pull‑stroke allowing it to feature much thinner blades than European saws. Belonging to centuries-old tradition of woodworking, Japanese saws have been refined to perfection to provide an outstanding experience when cutting wood. Having a thinner blade means less material needs to be removed, therefore they require less energy for cutting resulting in less wear and leave only a clean, satisfyingly thin kerf in the wood.
